"Washington Post" reporter Eugene Robinson joins RCC as the Keynote Speaker for the 2016 Reston Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birrthday Celebration. Widely recognized for his uncanny ability to speak truth topower, Robinson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer who bringsaudiences a tested perspective on today’s political news. In his various roles at "The Washington Post" and while reporting abroad, Robinson has witnessed first-hand the revolution taking place online and in the 24/7 news cycle and has seen how the news media are influencing American culture. As one of the most prominent African-American intellectuals on the scene and author of "Disintegration: The Splintering of Black America" (2010), Robinson also shares his understanding of race relations in the United States and explains why many popular conceptions are now obsolete. Mr. Robinson's address will be followed by a community lunch.
