DIRECTIONS TO DR HORTON CAMPUS:
From Hwy 501 take Forestbrook Road Exit.  Turn right on Belle Terre Blvd.  Proceed 1/2 mile.  Turn left into entrance to DR Horton complex.  DO NOT GO TO Tuscany – If you find yourself at the Tuscany entrance, you have gone about 200 ft. too far!  We are NOT IN Tuscany.  The sign for DR Horton is before you get to the Tuscany entrance and is small so don’t miss it.  Once you pull into the DR Horton office complex, we are in the outbuilding on the left with the picnic table in front.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

SC State Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Requirements:

SC state law requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 90 hours of training and passing of the RE licensing exam in order to get a real estate license.
The 90 hours of training consists of the 60 hour Unit I RE Fundamentals course and the 30 hour Unit II Advanced RE Principals class.
Applicants must be 18 years old to receive a property manager or salesperson license and 21 to receive a broker, BIC or PMIC license.
Applicants must undergo a criminal background check.

Refund Policy:

Advance notification seven (7) days prior to the first day of class is required to receive a refund.  If you do provide proper notice, you will have the option of transferring to another of our Unit I sessions or requesting a full refund. Because our commitments are based on headcount, if you do not provide proper notice, you will forfeit your tuition.

Attendance:

Attendance at all classes is required for credit.
If you withdraw after starting the class, you will not receive a refund but may transfer to another Unit I or UNIT II course which starts within three months after the scheduled end of the withdrawn class.  A deposit of $250 is required for class retakes, which will be returned if you attend all classes in the retake session.  If the retake is not completed, this deposit will be forfeited.  After three months, full tuition will be charged to re-take any course.
Being late or leaving early by more than 20 minutes in a 4-hour session (including breaks) violates Real Estate Commission requirements. Any accumulation of absence of more than 60 minutes during the class schedule will be considered a withdrawal and handled in accordance with the withdrawal policy explained above.

Class Credit Requirements:

The instructor has the right to have any disruptive student removed from class.
During class, cell phones and pagers must be turned off, not simply left on silent or vibrate.
Tape or video recording, accessing computers, reading unrelated materials, playing computer games, etc., are not allowed.
Ten (10) minute breaks will be given every hour for you to communicate or otherwise use as you see fit.

End of Course Test Requirements:

To receive credit for the course, you must score a 70% on the end of course exam, which consists entirely of multiple-choice questions.
Anyone who fails to pass the final class exam may take one (1) retake exam free of charge within 30 days of the failed exam.  A maximum of two additional retake exams may be taken for $50 each one within one hundred twenty (120) days from the date your original class started. After that, no further retakes will be given under any circumstances.

SC Real Estate Licensing Exam Guarantee:

You must pass the UNIT I course in order to take the SC Real Estate Licensing exam.
Your initial real estate licensing exam must be taken within 30 days after the last day of your classes.
If you do not pass the SC licensing exam within this 30 days, you may re-enroll free of charge in the UNIT I class within six (6) months from the date of original registration.

Returned Checks:

There will be a $35 charge if your check is returned from the bank for any reason.
Any returned checks must be made good within one business day of notification or the start of class, whichever comes first.

FAQs:

Are classes ever canceled by the school?

It’s possible I suppose, but unlikely.  If a class is canceled, you will be rescheduled to a suitable date or, if that cannot be arranged, you will be entitled to a full refund.

What time does check-in begin?

Check-in begins 30 minutes before the class.  PLEASE don't be late - the Real Estate Commission has no sense of humor when it comes to late arrivals!

What should I bring?

It is a good idea to wear clothing layers to any class, and perhaps to bring a wrap just in case, since everyone has a different temperature tolerance and preference and outside conditions change. We generally try to supply writing materials, but to be safe it doesn’t hurt to bring your own highlighter and pen.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

For registration questions, contact Sharon at sharonljones@(or 843-742-1756 for urgent issues)
For logistical issues regarding Rock Hill, contact Grady Thomas at gthomas@thomaspropertygroup.net (or 704-608-8575)
For all technical CE questions or logistical issues regarding Myrtle Beach, contact Howard at howardrjones@(or 803-391-6644 for urgent issues)

Do I have to bring my printed confirmation email to the event?

While it may prove to be helpful, it is not an absolute necessity.
