Event description
This is part of the project where you can design, plan and make a digital community magazine. If you are unemployed and interested in film, radio, podcasting, blogging, vlogging, photography, design and journalism, then this is the project for you.
It is a chance to create a state of art digital community magazine that can cover issues that matter to you, with the support of experts from the BBC and the WEA. We want you to tell your stories, your way.
Dates
Your Digital Stories - What do I want to achieve?
WEEK 1 FRI 30TH NOV 10AM – 1PM  
WEEK 2 FRI 7TH DEC 10AM – 1PM 
These two sessions you will explore your current skill set, aims, ambitions, concerns, barriers and employability goals. 
Your Digital Stories – Recording, reporting & designing
WEEK 3 MON 17TH  DEC     10AM – 2PM
WEEK 4 FRI  4TH     JAN       10AM – 2PM
WEEK 5 FRI  11TH   JAN       10AM – 2PM
WEEK 6 FRI  18TH   JAN       10AM – 2PM
You will use this time to create a digital magazine that will incorporate written articles, photography, print and publish design, film, social media and podcasting. You can focus on one area or work across a number of mediums, thus developing your skills further. The magazine will be available online and can involve local community issues, campaigns, news, reviews, features on local employers, community groups, local events research and fact-finding element of the project is key to the development of employability skills. The media elements will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience in communicating, planning, team work, managing time and building confidence and self-awareness – all key transferable skills employers are looking for.

You will be encouraged to reflect on how your development had progressed, areas requiring further improvement and identifying progression opportunities that could support your overall employability goals.
During the project, the WEA will provide one to one support opportunities through either **** to ****, Skype or phone. Through this,  participants can acess information, advice and guidance to support their continuing progress.
