Event description
Ms. Nancy Wilson. - The Jazz Vocalist Who Intertwined The Sounds of Jazz with Pop Music
Join us for a memorable performance of song and history of Ms. Nancy Wilson performed by Tayrn Newborne.

Nancy Wilson, was a skilled and  sophisticated jazz-pop vocalists of the 1950s and the powerhouse behind several pop-soul hits of the 1960s and ’70s,
Taryn Newborn will bring to The Coffee Vineyard stage the unbeatable style of Ms. Wilson's gift for telling stories through song and making the song, it's lyrics larger than life.  Whether it be a torch song, or a song of new love, Tayrn will deliver to you the stylings of Ms. Wilson.

Ms. Wilson’s best-known recordings told tales of heartbreak, with attitude. Ms. Wilson could infuse even the saddest song with a sense of strength and pride.
In her canny signature piece from 1960, “Guess Who I Saw Today” (written by Murray Grand and Elisse Boyd), a woman baits her husband by dryly telling him a story in which he turns out to be the central villain. In her 1968 hit, “**** It Girl, It’s Over” (by Francis Stanton and Andy Badale), Ms. Wilson first seems to throw cold water in the **** of a deluded woman who fails to notice that her lover has lost interest in her. Only later does she reveal that she is the benighted woman scorned.
Join us for a night of jazz and pop at The Coffee Vineyard.
