Event description
Johns Hopkins University has a long tradition of applying operations research and analytics to improve healthcare operations. The Johns Hopkins Symposium on Healthcare Analytics, started in 2016, aims to reinforce JHU’s leading role in this important field.
Hosted by the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and supported by Johns Hopkins University’s business and medical faculty, this symposium aims to showcase cutting-edge operations research applied to healthcare, and facilitate exchange among academics, practitioners, and policymakers in a multidisciplinary platform.
Building on the success of the inaugural symposium, held in October 2016 and titled When Organ Transplantation Meets Operations Research, the 2019 gathering is built on the theme Healthcare Analytics and Organizational Design. It intends to address one of the most visible topics in the field of healthcare analytics in the past five years — organizational design, which is a key strength of the Carey Business School and, more broadly, the Johns Hopkins community.
We see a golden opportunity to bring together leading thinkers from both the healthcare analytics and organization theory communities as well as influential medical practitioners and policymakers, within and beyond Johns Hopkins, to discuss how operations research and analytics can contribute to organization-level changes in the 21st-century healthcare ecosystem.
