Featuring a keynote speaker, panel discussions, and distinct workshops for youth and adults, attendees of Pasadena Mental Health Day 2019 will:

Participate in Interactive and insightful workshops for youth and adults - including parents, new adults, and seniors
Gain knowledge on the current mental health issues and challenges faced today
Gain knowledge on the current mental health issues among those experiencing homelessness
Discover the benefits of healthy living, community engagement, and compassionate service on mental health and homelessness


10:00 a.m.             Registration at registration tables in Great Hall

11:15 a.m.             Break/Resource Fair                              Visit the resource fair in the Great Hall where you'll find helpful information and opportunities for                                empowerment, services, and support.
ANIMALS HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON EMOTIONAL, MENTAL, AND PHYSICAL HEALTH! Make your way out to the Southeast lawn (near East Walnut St.) to de-stress with gentle dogs with Helping Paws Coordinator, Judith Gomez, and learn about Pasadena Humane Society’s services to individuals and animals in need of care, compassion, and companionship.
Also, share your mental health journey with Casa Treatment Center to shatter the stigma surrounding mental health..
11:30 a.m.               Engaging Youth Experiencing Homelessness (Panel)
Join us for a powerful discussion about youth homelessness and learn about the resources available for youth from local leaders and previously homeless youth.

12:15 - 1:15 p.m.       Lunch/ Youth PhotoVoice Showcase
Enjoy lunch and visit an exciting PhotoVoice Exhibit curated by Day One Youth Advocates. "On my way home..." is a Photo Voice project that combines photography, storytelling and advocacy. This project explores Pasadena neighborhoods through the eyes of local youth, the journey’s they experience on their way home, and the conflicting messages they encounter about alcohol, marijuana and other substances.
1:15 p.m.              Workshops

Yoga: A calming, stress-relieving session to help stretch and strengthen the mind, body, and soul. Learn helpful tips for relaxing and stretches you can easily do at home. Facilitated/Provided by Day One
Art Therapy “A Window Between Worlds” workshop:  Learn communication skills that would enhance your relationships and mental health through the medium of art. The participants are able to find a sense of safety, build self-worth, realize strengths, and find a medium to express oneself. This event also enabled participants to be heard and feel Teresa Montes- Montalvo
