Event description
Art Access and art therapist, Jill Johnson, have teamed up to offer a safe and creative and forum for individuals who have experienced trauma or loss to express emotions and experiences in a way that is empowering. Based on the Open Studio Project, founded in Chicago, participants will explore various art mediums individually and through collective group experience. Participants will learn about intention, artmaking and witness writing. Utilizing participant narratives, we will work together to heal and transform trauma and loss into tools of learning, self-awareness, understanding, strength and compassion. This is open to anyone having base privileges/access (must have proper ID to access the installation).
About Jill Johnson: Jill Johnson uses the expressive arts to assist clients in their personal and/or professional journey toward healing, growth, awareness and/or creative spirit. Johnson works in a holistic fashion, offering a combination of expressive therapies with traditional talk therapy, creative exploration, outdoor and narrative therapies. Her goal is to provide a safe space to explore and assist clients in discovering their voice and expressive nature.
Participants can attend more than one workshop, but must register for each session they wish to join:
