Event description

Small businesses **** enormous challenges in today’s economy and rely on having productive and well-motivated employees. Workplace wellbeing, although a relatively modern term is all about the basic things such as the quality and safety of the physical environment, how people feel about their work, their working environment etc.
According to research by the Reward and Employee Benefits Association (REBA) 2018, 45.2% of respondents had a wellbeing strategy in place and of those without, almost half planned to introduce within 12 months. 72.8% cited high pressure working environments as the biggest threat to employee wellbeing.
A leadership and management report undertaken by the FSB in 2018 showed that while three fifths of small business owners (59%) say they update their business knowledge and skills at least once a year, specific management training is often lacking. What’s more, only a quarter of small firms questioned (25%) had undertaken management training in the last 12 months, and a similar proportion (26%) had never undergone any form of management training at all.

Hear from Edwina Redhead – HR & Employment Law Consultant for Natwest Mentor, who will provide insight and best practice guidance for managers and business owners on building effective teams to enable business growth.
With a focus on how to effectively assess and select candidates, setting goals that are aligned to your business’ aims (and measuring performance against these), as well as how to align your team to the vision and improve the overall engagement levels of your staff. Following the presentation there will be a Q & A session and the opportunity to network with other local organisations.

We look forward to seeing you there!
