When it comes time to finance a small business, the lending options can be overwhelming. Finding a banker you know and trust is important and a key component to the success of a small business. Equally important is determining what lending options are right to support your business’s needs. Join Regions and The Idea Village to discuss the financial options that are available to you and how to prepare for a successful lending outcome. We’ll have local bankers as well as a few non-traditional lenders available to share information on how to work with a lender to make your small business a reality.

About the Speakers:
Taylor Carlton has over 10 years in the financial services industry. Taylor was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated from Louisiana State University with a Major in International Business. As a Vice President and Branch Manager, Taylor is responsible for helping small business customers reach their unique goals by fostering long term relationships. Taylor is passionate about giving back to the community through volunteering and teaching financial education to the city’s youth. He has given financial education seminars at local high schools, universities, the Louisiana Children’s Museum, private businesses, and Junior Achievement. He has previously worked with the YLC Kicks program, which uses soccer as a vehicle to teach social, emotional, and leadership skills to young children. He has received the NOPD Superintendent’s Coin and Service of Excellence Award. Taylor also serves on the board for the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. When he is not working or volunteering he enjoys spending time with his wife, newborn son, and two dogs. 
Amie Barton joined Regions Bank in 2004 as a Branch Sales Manager. Since 2004, she has held multiple roles with Regions. After serving as a Branch Manager, she held the role of Metro Market Manager where she helped 27 branches in the Greater Baton Rouge area service small businesses. Utilizing her knowledge in the small business arena she moved into a Relationship Manager role in the Commercial Banking group in 2014 where she managed a portfolio of approximately 100 business clients. Barton helped to expand customer relationships throughout the Greater Baton Rouge region. Currently, she is serving as the SBA Lending Specialist for the Commercial Banking group in South Louisiana. In this role, she helps commercial clients with business acquisitions, expansions, and purchases of real estate and equipment. Amie holds the position of the Chairman of the Board of Dream Teachers, a non-profit organization that recognizes and rewards outstanding Educators in the state of Louisiana. Amie also recently served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce where she is an education committee member and a graduate of the Leadership Livingston Class of 2016.
Benita Benta-Rice is a Business Opportunity Specialist at the U.S. Small Business Administration, a position that encompasses  business development, business training and industry awareness.  In short, she assist business owners  in with growing their business.   Her role as an entrepreneur and over 20 years’ corporate experience working with senior management in analytical, project and program development roles, has provided  in-depth knowledge and experience, which she applies to in her current role. She has been a recipient of the coveted Cooperative Association of States Scholarships and has served as an AmeriCorps Vista. She currently volunteers at the New Orleans Adventist Academy.
David Buggage as Manager of Loan Originations for Louisiana for TruFund Financial Services, Inc. is responsible for identifying and acquiring community development lending opportunities in target markets with a focus on providing loan financing and technical assistance to small businesses and non- profit organizations. During his tenure, Mr. Buggage has led the organizations efforts to increase its presence in the MWDBE space in the Metro New Orleans market. Mr. Buggage has spoken and participated in numerous seminars and panels related to MWDBE small businesses and access to capital for small business including Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business, Capital One Getting Down to Business Financing Panel and Southern Region Minority Supplier Development Council MBE Town Hall meeting. Under the leadership of Mr. Buggage Trufund Financial Services Inc. has emerged as a leader in the MWDBE community bringing together leaders, minority contractors, and project owners at events such as: DBE Roundtable- Barriers to Participation, DBE Roundtable – Dialogue with a General Contractor, and US DOT Bonding and Access to Capital Program. Since October 2014 under Mr. Buggage’ s leadership TruFund’s New Orleans Office has deployed over $3 million dollars in capital to 25 small business which has resulted in 140 new jobs and over $28 million dollars in contracts procured. 
Mr. Buggage has over 25 years of experience in banking and finance. His areas of expertise include commercial lending, small business lending, consumer lending, underwriting, credit analysis, and mortgage lending. Prior to joining TruFund Financial Services Inc., Mr. Buggage was a self-employed consultant with The BUGGAGE Group. The BUGGAGE Group is a small business consultancy created by Mr. Buggage to help small and emerging businesses access capital to expand and grow their business. Before creating The BUGGAGE Group in 2009 Mr. Buggage was the Assistant Vice-President/Consumer Loan Manager at both Liberty Bank &Trust and Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank in New Orleans. In these roles he both created and led the bank’s consumer loan departments.
Buggage is a native of New Orleans, LA and a graduate of the University of New Orleans and Archbishop Shaw High School.
Dianne Sclafani is well-known in New Orleans as a business speaker, trainer, and consultant specializing in food businesses. Her mission is to help micro-business owners achieve their career and business vision for success from local to global. She works with restaurant owners, food manufacturers, caterers,... Dianne’s extensive food business knowledge and work experience provides her to speak on all aspects of food business ownership; management of administrative, operational, marketing and sales business needs to achieve profitability.
Dianne is honored to be the Culinary & Foodservice Business Development Consultant for the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the Greater New Orleans and Bayou Region. Dianne continues to consult over 600 local and statewide businesses. She strengthens and expand them from a strategy for growth to capital access. Many of her clients, as well as local bank officers and investors refer businesses to her to prepare their loan packages and coach investment pitches. While food is her specialty, she also works with many other industry businesses. She creates and instructs culinary and general entrepreneur training programs and seminars on the latest trends, techniques, tools, and best practices. Dianne was awarded the America’s SBDC 2016 State Star for the Louisiana SBDC.
