Event description
***** Ed with Rabbi Weiss: What is Specifically Jewish About Social Justice? Why do we care as JEWS?
TWO OPTIONS:

Sunday Condensed Version: 4/28 from 10:00am-12:00pm

Two Session Extended Class: Tuesdays 5/7 and 5/14 from 7:30pm-9:00pm

We know why it’s important to repair the world, but where do we learn this as Jews?As socially conscious progressive folks, many of us consider social justice to be a core part of who we are. We do activism, justice work, and feel like one of the ways we express our Jewish identities is through our social activism. But do you know what Judaism says about Justice? Beyond “tzedek, tzedek tirdof" (justice, justice shall you pursue), what do our texts, holidays, rituals and values actually teach about the social justice we do? In other words, what’s Jewish about our justice work that’s different or particular to us, than just good human values?
