Mrs. Jimenez is a South Carolina native, Licensed Independent Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist.
Mrs. Jimenez served on the North Carolina and South Carolina Board of Directors for Association for Play Therapy and NASW. She is a currently serving on the SC Board of Directors as President-Elect. Learn more about Mrs. Jimenez at

Mrs. Onley-Livingston is a South Carolina Native. Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor working towards Certification as a Registered Play Therapist.  She has done extensive training and has over 5 years experience in Sandtray and Expressive Arts and is currently applying for Certification as a REAT Registered Expressive Arts Therapist.
Purpose:  This 6-hour workshop will provide social workers or therapists new to play therapy, and expressive arts or wanting to refresh their play therapy techniques by reviewing the purpose of play therapy, therapeutic powers of play and how to begin using play therapy with their consumers. Participants will leave having an understanding and knowledge of the meaning of play therapy, expressive arts, and skills to utilize play therapy in the work environment. 

Learning Objectives: The participants will:

Strengthen their knowledge of the meaning of play therapy.

Strengthen their knowledge of expressive arts in the play therapy setting.

Develop an understanding of the therapeutic powers of play.

Increase skill set by learning methods of play therapy to utilize in the clinical setting to help engage and better work with consumers.

Bridge a connection with expressive arts in the play therapy setting.

Develop methods of play therapy that can be utilized with ***** consumers.

Training Schedule
8:00am to 9:00am Registration & Coffee with the Authors
9:00am to 10:30am Overview of the meaning of play therapy & therapeutic powers of play, an introduction to play therapy techniques
10:30am to 10:45am Break
10:45am to 12:15pm Experimental individual and group play therapy activities
12:15pm to 1:30pm Lunch
1:30pm to 3:00pm Overview of expressive art and incorporating expressive arts in the play therapy setting.  
3:00pm to 3:15pm Break
3:15pm to 4:45pm Experimental: individual and group expressive arts activities
4:45pm to 5:00pm Closing and Evaluation.
Continuing Education: This training carries 6 continuing education clock hours specific to Play Therapy provided by Outspoken Consulting and Consulting LLC (APT Approved Provider #17-492). Outspoken Counseling and Consulting LLC is approved to offer continuing education clock hours specific to play therapy.  Outspoken Counseling and Consulting LLC maintains responsibility for the program.
