Event description
Hanna Washburn is an interdisciplinary artist who works in recycled materials. Her primary material is clothing, previously worn by the artist herself or people close to her. In her talk, Hanna will discuss the inspiration for her work, how she sources her materials, and the references embedded in the colors and forms. Hanna’s work has a significant biographical component, so she will also discuss the legacy of craft practices in her family, and how inheritance functions in her work.
Hannah is the current Artist in Residence at the Society. She in the studio Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11-6, and Thursdays from 11-9. Come stop by and say hello!
