Event description
Did someone say FUN?
Learning to paint can be a beautiful and freeing activity, as well as a way to increase your self expression while reducing your day to day stress levels (which we can all benefit from).
Make your painting experiences that much more enjoyable by adding a beginning sense of color theory and paint mixing skills to your creative repertoire.  In this truly enjoyable and fun 2 hour class, lead by Laurie Maves Guglielmi, a contemporary artist and art therapist with over 25 years of painting experience, you will learn about primary, secondary and tertiary (Intermediary) colors and how to make them with simple mixing practices. You will also learn about making tints shades of hues and colors by mixing them directly, which will help you get to the colors you are wanting faster.  Although color theory can be daunting, this hands-on introductory class will introduce a handful of extremely helpful techniques that will help the most basic and novice artist and painter gain a sense of confidence in one's approaches.
Besides the basic instruction, students will leave with  5"x7" journal for note taking and an 11"x14" color wheel that the students create on paper that students will be able to take with them and use at home or in future painting classes and workshops.
