Ninth Annual **** & Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award for Excellence
A celebration of what works in public education
On November 12, 2019, Furman University’s Riley Institute and South Carolina Future Minds will host the ninth annual WhatWorksSC Award Celebration. Special guest and former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give remarks. A dessert reception will follow the program.
Three finalists for the award will be selected from applications received earlier in the year. Former two-term Governor of South Carolina and United States Secretary of Education **** Riley will name the winner and honor the finalists at the celebration. The award is named for Secretary Riley and his late wife, Ann “Tunky” Riley, a dedicated teacher and passionate advocate for quality public education.

2015 - Teacher Cadet Program (Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention and Advancement – CERRA)
2014 - Center of Excellence to Prepare Teachers of Children of Poverty (Francis Marion University)
2013 - Chester Park Elementary School of Inquiry Project Based Learning Initiative (with Winthrop Univeristy)
