About the Instructors:
From a very young age, Caroline Garnier has been playing with fiber, whether sewing or knitting, learning from her grand-mothers, or feeling a great connection with ***** Elyse, her great aunt, known for her delicate work.
When life took her away from her native France, sewing has been her Ariane’s thread; from learning English, while taking sewing classes, to connecting with friends all around the world. Caroline is mainly self-taught and loves to embrace new challenges, recently taking lingerie-making classes. She is also a pattern tester and occasionally models for the curvy pattern brand Cashmerette.
Caroline loves to share her passion for anything fiber, sewing, knitting, embroidery, and she is a firm believer that playing with fabric and exploring your creativity is a great remedy for the soul. Making something from scratch, from your own hands, is like a superpower.
Sarah Lauzon is a fourth-generation quilter who began by learning the traditional forms of quilting, but was influenced in the expansion of the Modern Quilting movement. She is a Past President of the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild, a kids and adults sewing instructor, and also an Ambassador for The 70273 Project. Recently, she was named as the recipient of the Quilting Excellence Award at QuiltCon 2019 in Nashville.
She's learned how to use her garment sewing skills, also and in the span of a year, has gone from beginner patterns to sewing men's jeans, a dress shirt, and enjoys working with knits. With a little know how and enthusiasm, she can help take your skills from novice to garment sewist, as well.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, both from Wayne State University in Detroit.
