Event description
The Writers’ Roundtable is a gathering for the exchange of ideas on writing. This is not a workshop, but an organized discussion for writers and editors about topics beyond the page, keyboard, and pen. Some topics include submitting to literary magazines, the novel writing process, what kinds of contests writers submit to, and how writers come up with ideas.
Each roundtable will have one writer who will choose the topic and present the group with questions to ponder and discuss. An agenda will be sent to participants before the event with the topic.
At first glance, this might seem a little more structured than most discussions. But this still has the intention to be casual and relaxed. The roundtable’s purpose is to get writers feeling curious, excited, and to generate discussion naturally through intriguing questions.
For those interested in presenting a topic and moderating a roundtable discussion: SIGN UP HERE.
If you’re thinking of moderating, please read this guide with suggestions: MODERATOR GUIDE.
The moderator will be picked based on first come, first served and the topic (as in, whether or not it has been discussed before or recently). Once there's a moderator, their topic and bio will be posted here and emailed to participants.
We will meet at the Harvard Smith Center near Pavement Coffee and push together a table or two. If the weather is nice, we'll meet outside. :)
