Event description
Get the inside scoop behind the city thought to be home to more than 10,000 spies from a veteran of one of the most secretive agencies in the United States.
Join Atlas Obscura for an evening of spy games and an espionage-themed walking tour of Georgetown with a CIA veteran. D.C. native Rosanna Minchew will share (cleared) insider tales from her 15 years with the intelligence agency and lead the group through the areas of the neighborhood most populated by spies among us. You'll visit the homes of "Wild Bill" Donovan, a former FBI agent who allegedly spied for Russia, and former CIA director William Colby and see the notorious spots where Cold War-era games of smoke and mirrors played out between the United States and the Soviets.
Ever wondered why the CIA and the FBI can't get along? Rosanna will provide some historical context behind the secretive agency, as well as some fast facts about infamous international figures like Vitaly Yurchenko and how one can become a globe-trotting spy.
