What is this seminar about?
Registered Dietitian and a Mind Body Eating coach, Miho Hatanaka will be presenting an educational seminar on how our minds affect how and what we eat.
Mind Body Nutrition is an exciting and timely new field that advances the practice of clinical nutrition by exploring the psychophysiology of how thoughts, feelings, and beliefs impact nutritional metabolism and health. Originated by Marc David, Founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, it goes far beyond classical nutrition by focusing on the fascinating connections between brain, body, and behavior. Simply put, what we eat is only half of the story of good nutrition. The other half is who we are as eaters. Mind Body Nutrition reveals how stress physiology, the relaxation response, breathing, awareness, pleasure, meal timing and much more profoundly influence digestion and calorie burning. And it offers practical and results-oriented strategies for the most commonly seen eating challenges and health issues of our times.

About the presenter: Miho Hatanaka, RDN, LD
Miho used to work full-time for a nutrition company helping people lose weight through calorie counting and calorie restriction. But she knew such strategies will not result in a long-term, sustainable weight loss for her clients. So she decided to branch off on her own, pursuing to help busy professionals who struggle to eat right. She works with people with stress and emotional eating habits who are not feeling comfortable in their own skin. While working with her clients she strives to address the root cause of their weight gain, diet-related chronic disease and provides mindful eating tools to gain more peace with food.
