Instructors: Nick Shigouri and Nick Ward-Bopp
Participants will build a modern coffee table with a welded steel frame and solid, locally & sustainably harvested walnut top. The table will measure roughly 42” in length, 20” wide, and 16” tall when completed. If you would like a different height, no problem, just let us know ahead of time. Any knots or fills will be done with black epoxy. This class is geared towards beginners with an interest in woodworking and/or metalworking. Feel free to bring a friend, partner, or family member to help! 

(4) 3-hr classes to build a modern coffee table

Tuesday March 10th: 6p-9p - Mill and glue up wooden top
Thursday March 12th: 6p-9p - Cut and weld steel legs
Tuesday March 17th: 6p-9p -  Continue welding and finishing
Thursday March 19th: 6p-9p - Sand and finish coffee table



While all skill levels are welcome, the tools and materials you may use are subject to safety training and instructor approval. Also please read through the Waiver, Release of Liability Form, and sign if you agree.

Closed-toe shoes are required
No loose or dangling hair, clothing or jewelry can be worn in the shop.
If for any reason Maker Village KC needs to cancel a class or workshop, you will be notified and refunded.
Must be 18+ to participate in workshops or open shop (16+ if attending with an *****).
