Event description
QuickBooks has a large share of the accounting software market, and it is used frequently by nonprofit entities. In this class, you will be instructed on how to design and set up a QuickBooks file for a nonprofit entity. We will then have each of you open a sample QuickBooks file and be provided with hands-on experience. This will include: how to enter and pay bills, track expenses, enter deposits and track all income. Upon finishing this, we will review the procedures for a successful month-end close and then apply it to the sample nonprofit QuickBooks file. This will be followed up by learning the features of the QuickBooks reporting system and how to extract the information from it. This training will be specially tailored to nonprofits with hands-on computer training being taught by instructors who understand QuickBooks, nonprofit organizations and nonprofit accounting.
Coffee, tea and lunch will be provided.
Workshop Requirements
Students must be with a 501(c)(3) organization in order to attend this workshop.  Bring your own laptop (your laptops must meet these basic requirements).  If you haven’t met these requirements, you will not be able to access or will have trouble in accessing QuickBooks.  Come prepared with your laptops ready. We will not be able to facilitate problem solving with any IT issues.
About the Instructor
Pamela Falkner, Bookminders' Business Development Director, offers more than 30 years of accounting and management experience. She works closely with internal staff and external partners to identify and develop potential clients in need of weekly outsourced bookkeeping services throughout Bookminders’ markets. Pam has been with Bookminders since 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Washington and Jefferson College, and is a devoted community volunteer and board member.
Registration and Waitlist
Workshops are intentionally small to allow for group discussion and provide time for individual questions.
The workshops regularly fill up, and registration is closed once the workshop is at capacity. If registration is full you may sign up for the waitlist. If a space opens up, you will be notified and will have limited time to register for the open space. Please call Ingrid Hitchens at 410-366-0922 if you have any questions about the waitlist.
Cancellations and Refunds
No requests for refunds will be granted within 24 hours of the workshop. If you, or your designee, do not attend the workshop you signed up for, the fee is non-refundable. We do encourage you to send another member of your organization in your place if you are unable to attend.
If the workshop is cancelled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, a notification will be sent to all registrants at the email address provided upon registration by 3:00pm the day of the workshop and refunds will be issued.
