Event description
0.2 CEU's available for this workshop for Rose State College FacultyWorkshop Description:
Many forms of learning activities involve the use of subjective forms of assessments, such as research papers, laboratory reports, book reviews, discussion board participation, etc. Although subjective assignments are often the best way to evaluate learning, they can be difficult to grade.
A grading rubric breaks down an assignment into components and provides clear expectations of each level of performance.  As well as being an efficient grading tool, rubrics also provide students with a richer understanding of the assignment thus promoting greater student learning.
Desired Learning GoalsAt the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

Identify the purpose of a rubric and when it can best be used
Recognize the various elements of a rubric design and key design limitations
Consider how rubric components align with teaching objectives
Apply rubric design elements to an assignment
Begin creating a rubric that can be used in their course

FYI:  After you register, there is no need to print your ticket!!  We will have a Check-In sheet using the registration list at the workshop.
