Event description
The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is pleased to be working with the IET once again to host a Faraday Challenge Day on Tuesday 11 February  2020, from 09:15 - 15:00.
Faraday Challenge Days are part of a nationwide scheme run by the Institute of Engineering and Technology. The one day STEM activity is designed for teams of six students in Year 8 (ages 12-13). The students will research, design and make prototype solutions to tough engineering problems.  You can find more information on the Faraday Challenge website:
The winners of each event win prizes for themselves and a trophy for their school. The top three teams from across the UK will win an all-expenses paid trip to the National Final in June 2020, where they will compete for a cash prize of up to £1,000 for their school.
Many of our events are oversubscribed.  Registration of interest will close on 5 November 2019, and then schools will be allocated places on a random basis.  All schools will be contacted on 8 November 2019.
