Event description
The West Midlands Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and the Federation of Small Businesses will be hosting an event with businesses from across the West Midlands on the topic of fraud. The workshop will focus on fraud and its impact on the West Midlands business community.

Experian estimates that the total cost of fraud to the UK economy is £190 billion a year. Through looking at the recorded data on fraud we can discern that approximately 65% of this is experienced by businesses. Businesses are vital to the West Midlands economy and for that reason the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner is committed to doing all that he can to protect businesses from fraud.

This half day event is a must for business owners looking to protect their businesses from fraud. There will be a series of expert workshops which will be facilitated by experts in the following fields:

Fraud
Hacking
Seasonal fraud

There will also be a special workshop on modern slavery, delivered by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. This session will cover the vital role that businesses play when tackling this devastating crime.
We welcome representatives from the broad spread of the West Midlands business community, for what will be a fun but, most importantly, incredibly informative event
