Event description
Robert Greenwald's new film, Suppressed, highlights voter suppression tactics and policies used in Georgia in 2018 that could be deployed nationally in 2020 to disenfranchise voters. Everything Americans are fighting to achieve – immigration reform, ending mass incarceration, gun control, environmental justice – will only be possible if all Americans have equal access to vote.
"Fixing our broken elections" is a top-priority of We do our work in New Jersey across a broad spectrum, including secret "dark money" swamping our elections and ranked-choice voting to remove the "spoiler" effect on voter choices. In 2018, we joined 100+ organizations to fight a stealth attempt at partisan gerrymandering.
Voter suppression, like "dark money" and gerrymandering, represents a tipping point for our democracy. Join us to find out what you can do.
