Event description
This course meets the 2018 Fresno County EMT protocol update regulations that will be made mandatory for all recertifying EMT’s starting July 1st, 2019. National University’s EMS division will begin offering this course starting October 2019 to allow ambulance companies and individuals alike the opportunity to begin taking this course ahead of time, to earn the mandated continuing education units.
Topics covered within the course include the following tier 2 skills (County policy B-450): Naloxone administration (IN), Epinephrine administration via auto injector (IM) for suspected anaphylaxis and/or severe asthma, finger stick Blood Glucose testing and Perilaryngeal airway adjuncts. All course completers will receive a certificate of completion to provide to the county/state for skills update validation (includes 5-hours of CE’s).
