Suitable for: S1–3  Cost: Free of charge  
No of pupils: 24 per session max  Timings: 10:30–13:00 or 11:00–13:30 (60 minute workshop, 60 minute exhibition & gallery visit)  Dates: Mon 17–Wed 19 Feb 2020 
 Pupils will work with professional researchers to diagnose and treat malaria infections.  They will examine sample blood smears from infected patients, then interview a mock ‘patient’ with malaria to find out how the infection can make people feel. Pupils will be tasked to select the right treatment for their patient and to advise them how to reduce their chances of infection in the future
This event is run in partnership with Edinburgh Infectious Diseases and members of the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Edinburgh. 
Classes must be accompanied by a teacher. 
By reserving 1 timeslot, you can bring up to 24 pupils. If you are bringing less than 24, please let us know on the booking form and we may combine with a small class from a different school.
