Event description
Participants explore “helpful” and “unhelpful” teaching characteristics and how these may be affected by the current climate in higher education. The workshop identifies physical, socio psychological and cultural factors that may influence the engagement of students in their learning. Participants gain a brief overview of ***** learning theory and have the opportunity to apply this by generating a teaching method and assessment for a learning case study.
Learning outcomes:• Reflect on your own teaching approach within your context;• Compare and contrast core approaches to teaching and student learning;• Analyse your own/ others’ teaching;• Evaluate the challenges of being a teacher within higher education.
