This 2-day course is designed to provide the student’s knowledge and skills sets in order properly identified and control hazards associated with permit-required confined space entry operations, The student shall receive training on Confined Space air monitoring, Confined Space Entry equipment, and skills on how to conduct both a horizontal & vertical entry in accordance with OSHA “Permit Required Confined Space” standard 29 CFR 1910.146 and 29 CFR 1926.21
This course is designed to train students on entry and introduce them to basic rescue operations pertaining to OSHA Permit-Required Confined Spaces. 
 
Course Learning Objectives:

Recognize and explain a Confined Space


Explain the duties and responsibilities of an: Authorized Entrant, Attendant, Entry Supervisor, Rescue and Emergency Services
Identify all physical hazards, electrical hazards, heat & cold related hazards associated with Confined Space Operations
Explain the three (3) types of hazardous atmosphere that are found in a permit confined space
Describe the key elements of a Confined Space Entry permit


Select and place into operation a direct reading instrument(s) to monitor for Flammable Atmosphere, Oxygen Deficiency/Enrichment, Toxic Vapors and Gases

Select and use (don and doff) the appropriate level of respiration protection


Select and place into operation a rescue retrieval system
Describe pre-entry, entry and exit procedures for a permit confined space


Explain and demonstrate energy control procedures


Select and place into operation appropriate ventilation equipment


Conduct confined space entry rescue

 
Course Outcomes:
After this course the student will be more knowledgeable of the OSHA Confined Space Standard, 29 CFR 1910.146 and how to perform limited entry rescue.  This course meets the basic requirements of the NFPA Standard 1006 (Chap. 7) for Awareness Level.
 
Note: This course can be expanded to 32 or 40 hours so as to meet the basic requirements for Operations Level Technical Rescue in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1006 and NFPA 1670 
The total cost of this course is $299.00 due prior to attendance. Payment can be made with Credit Card, Check, or Money Order. If a company is issuing a PO it must be provided prior to start of course.
