‘Three area are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive’. Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation stage 2017, page 7)

Communication and Language

The prime areas of learning are particularly important in the first 3 years and practitioners working with the youngest children are expected to focus strongly on the three prime areas, which are the basis for successful learning in the other four specific areas. (Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation stage 2017, page 9)
The training will highlight some of the key areas in the new Education Inspection Framework (September 2019) that Ofsted will consider in the Ofsted inspection, for example ‘cultural capital’, intent, implementation and impact of the curriculum.
This training will offer opportunities to:

Explore the importance of the prime areas as a basis for successful learning

Explore the prime areas of Learning with a focus on inspiring practitioners to plan exciting learning environments and meaningful learning experiences

Consider how to establish effective parental partnerships so that parents feel fully involved in their child’s learning whilst at a setting
