Bahamians settled in Delray during the early 1900s in the area known as Frog Alley. Nearby is the African American Spady Museum, Cornell Art Museum displays contemporary works. The lakeside Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens offers tea ceremonies, calligraphy workshops and serene outdoor spaces. Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a park featuring a raised boardwalk with views of birds, turtles and alligators.

You'll see families on vacation, young people playing volleyball, tennis, and older folks basking in the warm sun. Visitors looking for excitement can rent equipment – from snorkeling gear to paddleboards – at the Delray Beach Watersports shack on the beach. Parking is also available nearby, as are several restaurants, eateries and our host hotel. You can walk to when you’ve worked up your appetite, such RACKS Fish House and Caffe Luna Rosa. Lifeguards are posted along the shore, and the beach itself is free, with metered parking nearby costing $1.50 an hour.
